A Christian Worldview of History
The worldview through the Christian lens is a meaningful exploration of the human story, framed by the understanding that all people are created in the image of God (imago Dei) yet flawed by sin. This acknowledges that while God's hand is sovereign over all creation, His specific purposes in historical events remain beyond human comprehension. The belief that we are made in the image of God should influence our views on issues such as war, abortion, and caring for the poor and it shapes Christian's perspective on the inherent equality of all people in God's eyes.[3] History, as a discipline, seeks to understand the character and behavior of humans throughout history. However, a Christian worldview of history does not use a providential lens to explain God's specific purposes in events, nor does it narrow its focus solely to Christian figures in history.[4]
